Registration and Admission Unit

The Division  works on distributing newly admitted students by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Central Admission to the departments of our college every new academic year and accepting the top 5% from vocational schools as well as the top 10% from technical institutes. It also handles the processing of objections, nomination adjustments, transfers, and hosting, and plans the admission for scientific departments. Additionally, it monitors transfers, hosting, and nomination adjustments for current students within the period specified by the ministry for each academic year, for both morning and evening studies. It also coordinates the transfer of top students from the college to faculties with higher requirements in coordination with the university (Northern Technical University), follows up on university correspondences, and executes orders related to reinstating students with invalidated enrollments, supplementary exams, crossing over, and exam performance. It monitors special cases for some students between the college and the university, oversees the admission of equivalent certificate holders and transfers from outside Iraq, accepts martyrs’ relatives and exempts them from evening study fees, and accepts outstanding employees and accredited teachers academically. It reviews the minutes referred from the College Council Secretariat and provides appropriate solutions for all student affairs issues according to applicable examination regulations.

Unit of Registration and Admission

The unit works on distributing newly admitted students by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research/Central Admission to the departments of our college every new academic year. It also admits the top 5% from vocational preparatory schools and the top 10% from technical institutes. The unit handles objections, nomination adjustments, transfers, hosting, and admission plans for scientific departments. Additionally, it monitors the transfer, hosting, and nomination adjustments for existing students within the period determined by the ministry for each academic year, for both morning and evening studies. It also coordinates the transfer of top students from the college to higher-demand colleges, in coordination with the university (Northern Technical University). Moreover, it follows up on university communications and implements orders related to re-registering students with invalidated registrations, supplementary exam registrations, cross-examinations, and exam performance. It also monitors special cases for some students between the college and the university, oversees the acceptance of equivalent certificate holders and transfers from outside Iraq, accepts the children of martyrs and exempts them from evening study fees, accepts distinguished employees and certified teachers, verifies minutes referred from the College Council Secretariat, and devises appropriate solutions for all student affairs issues according to the applicable examination regulations.

Student Registration Process:

1- Required Documents for Registration:

  •  Original enhanced preparatory school certificate authenticated by the Directorate General of Education in the governorate.
  •  Guarantee pledge according to a template prepared by the Legal Affairs Department at the college.
  •  Colored copy of the nationality certificate and Iraqi civil status card or unified national card.
  •  Recent passport-sized photos (6).
  •  Original medical examination form.

2- Student Registration Procedure:

  • – The centralised admission results announced on the ministry’s official website serve as official notification to the college to start student registration.
  • – Students can be registered if they submit an objection to their acceptance, and if valid, their nomination is adjusted
  • – Registration for non-Iraqi resident students accepted for morning and evening studies is processed, considering the provisions specified in section (w-3) of Chapter Six of the Student Affairs Procedures Guide.

    3- Postponement, Failure, and Cancellation of Admission:

  •  The academic year is considered postponed for a student if they register at the college after the specified period until April 18, 2024.
  •  The academic year is considered a failure for a student if they register after April 18, 2024, until May 23, 2024.

    4- Cancellation of Admission:

  • -If a student does not register at the college they were accepted to during the same academic year until May 26, 2024.
  • – If any of the general or specific admission conditions are not met.
  • – If a student submits inaccurate, forged, or altered information or documents to the college, their acceptance is revoked.
    – If a student does not submit the original enhanced preparatory school certificate authenticated by the Directorate General of Education in the governorate until April 18, 2024.
  • – Immediate issuance of orders for canceled students upon eligibility.

    Direct Admission and its Conditions:

  • Iraqi nationality.
  •  The student must be born in 1999 or later.
  •  Holding an Iraqi preparatory school certificate, enhanced and authenticated by the Directorate General of Education in the governorate, or an equivalent certificate.
  • Passing the medical examination according to the specific conditions for each field of study.
  •  Full-time dedication to study, and combining work and study is not allowed (simultaneously) in morning colleges and institutes, which includes all government institution employees. Continued study requires obtaining an educational leave from their departments, starting according to the applicable instructions. Also, combining two fields of study is not allowed, and if proved otherwise, the ministry is written to cancel their acceptance.

    Applications are accepted for graduates of preparatory schools from the branches (Biology, Applied) for the current academic year 2022/2023 and the previous academic year, who did not receive central admission, according to the conditions listed for each specialization, provided they do not enroll in evening, private, or morning government education, colleges affiliated with endowments, or institutes affiliated with other ministries.

Applications are accepted for graduates of preparatory schools from the (Vocational) branches for the current academic year 2022/2023 and the previous academic year (after submitting proof of being deferred or failing with approval from the college or institute), and for each specialization as listed below, provided they do not enroll in evening, private, or morning government education, colleges affiliated with endowments, or institutes affiliated with other ministries.
